He was expelled from the NSW ALP in May 1936, resulting in his exclusion from Caucus, and retired in 1937 having lost his pre-selection. Later career: Staff member for Hon Eddie Ward, Territories Minister. Served three years for fraud over corrupt dealing in timber leases in Papua New Guinea.
